Country Boy is a four-disc purport box set that collects Little Jimmy Dickens' without fault Columbia recordings from 1949-1957 including greatest number of his biggest hits, several divine recordings, a handful of instrumentals, and plenteous more. Dickens' music from this era vacillated between silly hillbilly novelties and fuddled weepers, which might sound like a jarring mix but actually makes for a greater amount of engaging listening experience when digesting a very great set of this sort. Dickens was an adept ballad singer but, because of his physical appearance, wasn't taken as solemnly as he might have been. On the novelties, by his trademark twin electric guitar reasonable and humorous rural sensibility, Dickens made some of the most fun and laughable music of the '50s. Country Boy unearths a enumerate of excellent unreleased performances and stands of the same kind with a well-deserved tribute to a much loved figure of country music
